Wazoo - Les Terres Du Cézallier

Founded in 1999 by Kévin Quicke and Jean-François Chalaffre, WAZOO is a French folk-rock band from the Auvergne region. Inspired by rural traditions, village celebrations and the popular culture of central France, the band has developed a unique musical identity blending chanson, folk influences, bluegrass energy and powerful collective choruses. Deeply connected to its volcanic homeland, WAZOO celebrates friendship, transmission, authenticity and rural life through an energetic and deeply human musical universe. WAZOO became widely recognized with its iconic hit “La Manivelle” and has since built a loyal multi-generational audience through hundreds of concerts, more than 600,000 albums sold and millions of online views. With “Les Terres du Cézallier”, WAZOO explores a wide and cinematic musical landscape inspired by the volcanic highlands of Auvergne, in central France. The song develops a distinctive form of “volcanic bluegrass”, blending acoustic folk, pastoral violin, organic rhythms and vast open-space atmospheres reminiscent of the Cézallier plateau. Combinining collective energy, organic instrumentation and a strong sense of place, capturing both the rugged beauty and emotional depth of these volcanic lands, “Les Terres du Cézallier” reflects WAZOO’s attachment to transmission, landscape and the living spirit of rural France.
