R&B fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming new album coming from the legendary Chaka Khan.
The music diva gave them a preview a few weeks ago with its unexpected first single, “Chakzilla,” and today she follows up with the equally joyous “Boogie’s In My Soul.” Teaming with the ubiquitous Snoop Dogg, Chaka delivers a four-on-the-floor dance tune, with heavy electronic touches and a groove that goes on for days. Snoop’s rap at the song’s beginning gives hints of Melle Mel’s intro on “I Feel For You,” but the Greg Kurstin-produced number is less complex – it is straight up jam that is designed to move us to the club floor. Anything from Chaka Khan is always welcome, but this gloriously fun song is particularly welcome. Check it out below.
